LEGENDS 09 BLACK NAMED GULF STATES PREMIER LEAGUE BU13 CHAMPIONS

The Germantown Legends 09 Black finished the 2021- 2022 National Premier League (NPL) Gulf States Premier League in first place in the BU14 division.  The Legends 08 Black finished with a 7-0 record and a +25 goal differential for the entire campaign.

As champions of the Gulf States Premier League, the Legends 09 Black have qualified for the US Club National Premier League Southeast Regional Championships in Greensboro, NC in June.

GULF STATES PREMIER LEAGUE
The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a national competition platform created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by:

  • extending developmental principles espoused by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and clubs
  • linking competition with player development and identification platforms
  • providing meaningful weekly competition culminating in a national postseason

NPLs are leagues unified under one national competition platform and based on a common technical framework. More specifically, the NPL provides a platform:

  • focused on long-term player development
  • for the country’s top soccer clubs, allowing consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios and eliminate calendar congestion
  • integrated with the id² Program, which includes Player Development Programs (PDPs) in select local markets, and that works closely with U.S. Soccer staff regarding player identification, and player and coach development
  • designed and structured by the clubs, based on the needs of the clubs
  • that provides an avenue for qualification for the NPL Finals

The Gulf States Premier League, which includes 13-U through 19-U boys and girls age groups, was founded in May 2011 as part of US Club Soccer’s NPL.

The league is comprised of the following clubs:

  • Coastal Rush (FL)
  • Cajun Rush (LA)**
  • Germantown Legends (TN)
  • Gulf Coast United FC (MS)
  • Hattiesburg FC (MS)
  • Louisiana Fire Juniors (LA)*
  • Mississippi Brilla Juniors (MS)
  • Mississippi Rush (MS)

US CLUB
US Club Soccer will foster the growth and development of soccer clubs throughout the United States to create the best possible development environment for players of all ages in every club.
