Legends 05 Black NL Continue Mid South Conference Success

Date Posted: 10/30/2020

During the October 24th weekend, the Germantown Legends 05 Black NL had two fantastic results in Mid South Conference play.

On Saturday, October 24, the Legends 05 Black NL beat Tennessee United SC 05 Red 2-0 on goals by Joseph Dawson and Hays Adams. TUSC is the current Tennessee state cup champion and the current Mid-South Conference champion.

On Sunday, October 25, the Legends 05 Black NL beat Huntsville United SC 2-1 in a thriller on goals by Dawson Davis and Matthew McDonnell.  Huntsville USC is a three time Alabama State Cup champion and former Mid South Conference champion.  Goalkeeper Justin Cox led a stingy defense that gave up only one goal all weekend.

This was an overall wildly successful weekend for Legends 05 Black, as they currently sit top of the table in Mid South Conference.

Through its programming, resources and leadership, US Youth Soccer is advancing the game for its 55 Member State Associations, 10,000 clubs and leagues and nearly 1 million administrators, coaches and volunteers. From its humble beginnings in 1974 with just more than 100,000 registered players to its current registration of more than 3,000,000 players between the ages of five and nineteen, US Youth Soccer has always been recognized as a leader in youth sports organizations.  US Youth Soccer is the largest member of the United States Soccer Federation, the governing body for soccer in the United States, and is comprised of over 600,000 volunteers and administrators, and over 300,000 dedicated coaches, most of whom also are volunteers.

US Youth Soccer provides a healthy activity through its recreational and small-sided game programs.  These programs emphasize fun and de-emphasize winning at all costs.  Every child is guaranteed playing time, and the game is taught in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

USYS provides a fun, safe and healthy game for all kids. This includes big kids, little kids, tall kids, short kids, young kids, older kids, kids who want to play for one season, kids who want to play for twenty seasons, kids who play strictly for fun and kids who want to compete at the highest level possible. Kids are different, and because they are different, their physical, social and psychological needs are different.  US Youth Soccer recognizes this, and their programs are aimed at meeting the different needs of all kids.

The Tennessee State Championships is open to any properly registered team aged U13 – U19 in our Division 1 (most competitive) League.  Qualification is through our Division 1 State League or Midsouth Conference.  The Boys State Cup is held in the Fall, while the Girls State Cup is held in the Spring.

US YOUTH SOCCER NATIONAL LEAGUE
The US Youth Soccer National League is comprised of three areas of competition.  The primary league competition features 13 regionally aligned National League Conferences that operate team-based and club-based leagues.  Two national-level competitions — the National League Showcase Series and the National League Playoffs — provide connectivity between the conferences and offer a platform for teams to play unique cross-conference matches with added exposure to scouts.  The National League Playoffs also provide teams with opportunities to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

US YOUTH SOCCER MID SOUTH CONFERENCE
The US Youth Soccer Mid South Conference is one of 13 Conferences under the US Youth Soccer Leagues Program in the Multi-State Tier.  The Mid South Conference consists of teams primarily from Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee.  The top teams in the Conference will earn advancement to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships, part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, as well as a chance to earn a coveted spot in the National Tier of the Leagues Program, the US Youth Soccer National League.
